2021 State Convention Recap

Friends and Delegates--

Thanks to great Republicans like you, our NCGOP 2021 State Convention was a HUGE success! We had record-breaking attendance, media coverage, and fundraising. Here are some of our favorite moments!

This year, we held our first annual Old North State Dinner, featuring:

On Saturday afternoon, we hosted South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, who highlighted the importance of good conservative governance.

On Saturday evening, the 45th President Donald J. Trump addressed Convention delegates and guests. He highlighted the successes of the America First Agenda and the failures of the Biden Administration.

Chairman Michael Whatley was unanimously re-elected to lead the NCGOP! We are excited to welcome Susan Mills from Cumberland County as our new Vice-Chairwoman.

We also heard from Chief Justice Paul Newby at Convention, who emphasized Republicans must take back the Supreme Court and win judicial races up and down the ballot.

N.C. House Speaker Tim Moore and Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger spoke on the importance of taking back supermajorities in 2022, and we look forward to working with them both in establishing a veto-proof majority in our legislature.

On Saturday, we conducted a Straw Poll for U.S. Senate. The vote was taken by Convention Delegates and the NCGOP will remain officially neutral in the Senate Primary. Here are the results:

  • Mark Walker: 44%
  • Ted Budd: 29.4%
  • Pat McCrory: 17.5%

We had a HISTORIC Convention, and we hope everyone enjoyed their time! With your help, we are excited to paint North Carolina red in 2022. Let's get to work!
