Educational Curriculum

The road to Socialism begins in the classroom at a very early age. Today our children are not being taught basic skills and knowledge of American and World history, but about white bias, social equity, and a litany of liberal interpretations of what is best for our children. This has been going on for decades and has resulted in the eroding of the concept of America as a great nation that has done more than any other Country to learn from our mistakes and correct them in order to grow a more perfect Union.

July Meeting Minutes

Many members were away on vacation or had family members visiting. Family should always take priority!

A quick overview of what was discussed:

  • We have almost 200 signatures on the petition - if you have a social media platform and want to get the word out - please consider adding it to your page in order to secure more awareness and support.
  • Judy will be in touch with a former board member who can introduce us to some current members and we can begin a dialog with them regarding CRT.
  • Hillsdale College - a private conservative liberal arts college in Michigan has been instrumental in developing a curriculum called 1776 (Kindergarten to 2nd Grade, 3rd to 5th Grade, Middle School American History, High School American History, High School American Government and Politics)  that goes back to the basics! Unlike the CRT - this starts with Kindergarten as opposed to beginning in 2nd grade.
  • Dave brought up the Unicorn Gender, in NJ we had the Genderbread person, that is now being introduced in Kindergarten - Link is here.  The fundamentals of education are changing and we need to refocus our local schools on the basics before students can even understand what they are being exposed to. I am very doubtful that any 5 year old knows what the term emotionally attracted to means! During the 2018-2019 school year less than 40%  our county's Intermediate level were reading on level.
  • Again, we need to have a presence at school board meetings. Arapahoe Charter School's meeting is this Thursday at 6 p.m. - Pamlico County Public Schools still have not published their August meeting date - I will keep you posted. Hopefully the public will be able to physically attend as opposed to the live YOUTUBE meetings.
  • My thing is curriculum  & scores - our county needs to focus on the basics - please note the most recent statistics for our county's students- the first is an official state source:  nces.ed.gov  the second source has data from the 2018- 2019 school year the last 2 years' data has not been published publicschoolreview.compamlico-county-schools-school-district
  • I am fortunate that we have 3 students (3rd grade 7th grade and sr. in high school) in my development and I can ask their parents what's going on in school. If you have a young child in your area and feel comfortable asking their parent," Do you know what they are learning in Social Studies?"--- - it is a great way to alert our neighbors about what is going on in the classroom.

Included is the link for possible meetings in August. We will be meeting in person as opposed to virtually. Please remember majority rules when it comes to the date and time - I have some later day options included with the August selection. When I get a count by early part of  next week, I will secure a location. August meeting 2021 CRT

August meeting agenda:

  1. Getting our news out via newspapers and periodicals
  2. Attending local school board meetings and deciding what we can do
  3. Deciding how to reach parents of school age children in our communities within the county.

Critical Race Theory comes to a grinding halt in Craven County, lets hope we can do the same in Pamlico County!

December 6 Meeting Agenda.

Meeting to be held at Brantley's Village Restaurant at 1 pm.

The agenda I am proposing is as follows (but please feel free to bring anything else to my attention and I will be able to send a generalized agenda out once I have a consensus about the day/time).

  • Stop fishing in the same pond and look at alternatives to educate the public at large that are either free or very low cost.
  • Actively increase public education among parents of county school students (my thoughts are now going with my attending a few sporting events and just planting seeds to those folks I speak with between sets/matches). I know the local churches have an older population, so it is hard to reach out to younger people. The PTA
  • Dave mentioned being involved in the school board. A campaign takes time and money-and not sounding like Snookie helps too! If you have the criteria and are sincerely interested, let's start planning the curriculum now
