- North Carolina’s middle-class families and workers have benefitted from the Trump economy, as the State’s median household income rose by nearly $1,000 during the first two years President Trump was in office.
- Lower-income households in North Carolina have benefitted as well as more than 104,000 North Carolinians have been lifted out of poverty, and more than 258,000 North Carolinians have been lifted off of food stamps since President Trump took office.
- Businesses in North Carolina continue to benefit from the Trump Administration, as new business formation in the State is up nearly 25%.

President Trump’s tax cuts have given real results to North Carolina, as the average North Carolinian received a tax cut of more than $1,300.
- Thanks to President Trump’s tax cuts, nearly 37,000 new jobs in North Carolina are projected to be added over the next decade.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act doubled the Child Tax Credit, increasing savings for 704,160 households in North Carolina.
- Research from the Center On Budget and Policy Priorities suggests the child tax credit leads to improved educational outcomes for young children in low-income households.
- Due to the Opportunity Zones program created in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, 252 low-income areas will be revitalized and spur economic growth in the state.
- Thanks to the opportunity zone incentives, the Remergent Fund has backed a $58 million 300-unit residential development in the heart of downtown Kannapolis, NC.
- North Carolina families have also benefitted significantly from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, as utilities like Duke Energy have announced that they have passed on tax-savings to ratepayers.

President Trump has continued to take action to ensure North Carolina workers and families receive the relief they need while the State recovers from the coronavirus.
- Due to the Trump Administration’s action, 1.2 million North Carolina jobs have been protected by the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
- The PPP has provided more than $12.1 billion worth of loans to over 122,000 North Carolina businesses, which has helped employers stay afloat during the pandemic.
- Through the CARES Act, about 5 million North Carolinians have received Economic Impact Payments totaling more than $8.5 billion in relief.
- Recently, President Trump signed a series of executive actions to ensure North Carolinians continue to receive economic relief during the pandemic as Democrats have let many coronavirus programs created in the CARES Act expire.
- Through his executive actions, President Trump revived unemployment benefits, addressed an eviction ban, provided relief to student borrowers, and suspended the collection of payroll taxes.

President Trump has taken the lead by renegotiating the NAFTA trade deal, which has the ability to boost North Carolina’s economy and deliver new jobs to the state.
- The disastrous NAFTA Trade agreement, supported by Biden, caused North Carolina to lose 18,900 jobs due to the high trade deficits with Mexico.
- Thanks to President Trump’s action, the USMCA trade deal has the potential to add 588,000 jobs and grow U.S. GDP by $235 billion.

The USMCA trade deal comes into force after President Trump promised to renegotiate the disastrous NAFTA trade deal during the 2016 campaign.
- The USMCA Trade Deal is critical to North Carolina’s economy as they export more than $10 billion worth of goods to Canada and Mexico each year, and 376,000 jobs are supported by trade with the two countries.
- The North Carolina Chamber: “The USMCA is a major win for North Carolina farmers and agribusiness, as the deal will continue to grow export sales to Canada and Mexico.

The USMCA will help small-and-medium-sized machinery businesses thrive, as 78% comprises the state’s exporters of machinery to the two countries.
- One out of every five North Carolina manufacturing firms exports to Canada and Mexico and 73% are small-and-medium-sized businesses supporting local economies.
- Many North Carolina business leaders have praised the USMCA, and farmers have expressed relief as the USMCA “represents hope.”

President Trump has taken the lead to ensure that our military has the appropriate equipment, tools, and resources needed for our armed services.
- The Department of Defense has an annual impact of $66 billion and is the second-largest sector of North Carolina’s economy, contributing 12% of the State’s GDP.
- With six major military installations, North Carolina has the third-highest number of uniformed military personnel in the country.
- North Carolina continues to support the military and federal agencies worldwide, including “products, services, and infrastructure from businesses across the state to support our men and women in uniform.”

Since elected, President Trump has increased defense spending contracts in North Carolina.
- North Carolina depends on these contracts as they expand job growth, the economy, and tax base, which “improves the quality of life for everyone in North Carolina.”
- President Trump has continued to boost defense spending and has provided one of the largest pay raises for our troops.
- The Trump Administration has provided the largest amount of funding in more than 20 years for shipbuilding, in an effort to grow and modernize the Navy’s fleet.
- In FY20 NDAA, the Trump Administration ensured that the U.S. must maintain a minimum of 11 aircraft carriers in order to “protect our interests around the world.”
- The President has also ensured that land equipment is fully funded and has put forth measures to support ground combat systems, and armored multipurpose vehicles.
- President Trump has taken action to protect Veterans by signing several pieces of legislation that will provide the 656,000 Veterans in North Carolina, better care and improve problems at the Department of Veteran Affairs.

- The President has secured the largest funding for the Department of Veteran Affairs In history.
- President Trump has taken action to empower Veterans and end the national tragedy of Veteran suicide by providing a record $8.6 billion in funding for mental health services and $209 million in suicide prevention.
- The Trump Administration created a new White House VA Hotline, staffed by veterans and family members; the service conducts “immediate warm handoffs for at-crisis risk Veterans” who are needing the services of the Veteran Crisis Line.
- President Trump has taken action to expand telehealth services for Veterans, active military, and their families to ensure they receive the high-quality care they need.
- In 2019, the President signed an Executive Action to eliminate 100% of student loan debt for permanently disabled veterans, and called upon states to ensure that disabled veterans do not pay state tax on their forgiven debts.
